Healthy Options Project Erris (HOPE)

"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,
But anyone can start today and make a new ending"
(Maria Robinson)

The
HOPE project is a free and confidential service based in Bangor Erris and Belmullet.

Healthy Options Project Erris (HOPE) links people to activities and groups in the Erris area that they might enjoy and from which they may benefit. Getting involved in the right type of group or activity can often really help to support you with aspects of daily life that might seem challenging or isolating.

If you feel that your life could be more enjoyable and that you could build in new aspects to your life that you would give you occasions to look forward to, then perhaps working with our project worker could help you do to this. If you don't feel confident enough to join a group or activity our project worker can help you to prepare for this so that you will feel more confident.

If you think you might benefit from the service then you can simply contact the project worker who will meet with you to explore how the project can be of help. Even this first meeting alone can help you to look at your life and explore ways in which life can be a lot better for you. In working with the project worker you may decide on certain activities in the area in which you can become involved. This will hopefully bring about positive change and help you to experience life as more enjoyable and healthy.

The most important issue for the project worker is to help you find activities that might interest you and suit you as an individual. You will never be put under any pressure to involve yourself in anything with which you are uncomfortable. If you decide not to take any further part in the project after meeting the project worker then we will respect your choice.
