Fiona Thomas

Counsellor
Fiona joined the Family Centre staff in 2002 and currently works on a part time basis as part of the counselling team.
Fiona studied Social Work in Trinity College and worked for several years as a social worker in Dublin before returning to the West.
She completed her Counselling training with the Tivoli Institute, Dublin in 2001.
Máire Ní Dhomhnaill

Counsellor
Maire joined The Family Centre on a part time basis in 2002, Since January 2007 she works full time as part of the counselling team.
Prior to working in this area Maire has 20 years experience working in the disability services.
Maire is a fully accredited member of The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
A graduate of St Angela’s college in Sligo, Máire completed a diploma in the Psychology of Counselling in NUIG as well as a post graduate course in Gestalt Therapy in Galway.

Seamus Moran
Counsellor
Seamus' initial training is in Social Work, in this context he received a B. Soc Sci. from UCC in 1982, and his National Qualification in Social Work from UCD in 1989.
He has worked in many areas of social work in the last 25 years with all age groups from crisis pregnancy to issues relating to ageing. He has a particular interest in loss, bereavement, adoption and psychological trauma.
In recent years he has studied counselling and psychotherapy with the Tivoli Institute and in 2009 completed the Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Tivoli.
Jean Rowan
Counsellor
Jean joined the Family Centre on a part-time basis as a volunteer counsellor in 2009.
She worked for many years as a Public Health Nurse in several areas of the UK.
Since completing her Counsellor training at the University of Kent, UK in 2006, she has worked as a counsellor in the UK and from 2008 in Ireland.
Cormac O'Connor

Counselling Psychologist
Cormac joined the staff of the Family Centre in 2010. Cormac recieved his BA in Psychology from UCD in 2002, and studied for his MSc in Counselling Psychology in 2008 at Trinity College.
Cormac has spent 13 years working in the area of intellectual disability, in Wexford and Kildare as well as experience of working with the elderly, children, young people and in a variety of hospital environments.
Since qualifying as a Counselling Psychologist Cormac has gained experience working in two family centres in Dublin and with children and families in Dubai, as well as in private practice.
Fr. Pat Farragher
Counsellor
Fr Pat joined the Family Centre staff in 2001.
Ordained to the priesthood in 1990, he has served in Cill Chiarain, and at St Jarlath’s College Tuam.
In 2000 he graduated from Boston College, Graduate school of education with a Masters in Counselling Psychology and a Masters in Pastoral Ministry. Fr Pat is an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
